Through JA Take Stock in Your Future, students discover the benefits and challenges of investing in the stock market as part of a broader, long-term investment strategy and the risks and rewards of trading. (grades 9-12) The program includes five 45- minute sessions, with additional extended learning activities and optional digital assets offered throughout, including an optional online or site-based JA Stock Market Challenge competition.

JA Stock Market Challenge is a live simulation where students take what they learned in the classroom, through the JA Take Stock in your Future curriculum, and apply it to the real world. JA Areas facilitate fast-paced competitions based on a fictional marketplace. Students can compete in teams or individually, in person or remotely.

JA Take Stock in Your Future introduces students to basic concepts about how the stock market works and the impact of current events on the stock market. Through JA Take Stock in Your Future, students discover the benefits and challenges of investing in the stock market as part of a broader, long-term investment strategy and the risks and rewards of trading. After completing the classroom curriculum, students and teachers are invited to compete in the JA Stock Market Challenge, where high school students compete by investing and trading fake funds in the real market creating draft portfolios as teams, and finalizing their stock selections.
JA Take Stock in Your Future and JA Stock Market Challenge Offers Students:
- Real-life stock market learning experience
- Buying and selling shares of stocks in a fictional stock market
- Learning long-term investment strategies
*Maximum of four students per team and a minimum of 20 student teams to host a live event.
