Brinkmann Constructors Hall of Fame
Brinkmann Constructors
In 1984, Robert G. (Bob) Brinkmann founded R. G. Brinkmann Company from a modest construction trailer. After many decades of delivering high-quality projects and building long lasting relationships, the company, now known as Brinkmann Constructors, has grown to a national general contractor with over 450 employees and five offices across the country. (St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Richmond and Phoenix).
Entering the industry as a small retail contractor, the company broadened its expertise across many other market sectors, securing large contracts in a variety of sectors, including industrial, multifamily, student housing, senior living and beyond.
After nearly 30 years of consistent growth, Bob Brinkmann made a strategic decision to invest in the people and solidify the company’s longevity by selling his majority interest to employees. In 2013 the company was established as an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), operating as a 100 percent employee-owned corporation. This decision continues to empower Brinkmann employees to actively contribute to the company’s success, reinforcing the firm’s entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative culture.
In 2022, a succession plan was initiated, promoting Brian D. Satterthwaite to chief executive officer and Tom Oberle to president. Bob Brinkmann transitioned to chairman of the board, remaining actively engaged with the company until his official retirement in 2024.
Today, Brinkmann Constructors continues to rely on its founding principles, keeping relationship-building and client satisfaction top of mind while finding innovative ways to deliver the greatest value. After over 40 years, its legacy remains rooted in a people-centered purpose, a passion for building, and expertise driven by insight—beyond measure.
